    IMPORTANT: Only projects submitted both to https://hackzurich19.devpost.com/ as well as our project submission form will be judged.

    Register all team members here, tag the relevant workshops to get considered for the special workshop prizes and submit the link to your project on devpost.

    You will be assigned for a personal slot for a pre-evaluation with two judges in a specific room. Find your slot and room online here.

    Bring your own devices, WIFI will be available.
    3.
    Prepare for a 2-minute pitch and 1-minute Q&A.

    Announcement of the 25 Finalists selected by the main jury.

    Briefing of finalists and preparation of finalist pitches.

  • 13:30 I Closing Ceremony and Finalist Pitches I Auditorium

    2-minute pitch of each finalist team in front of the main jury.

    Bring your own devices (VGA, HDMI, Lightning Port, Visualizer will be available).

Evalulation Criteria of the Main Jury

  • Idea & Use Case 20% Creativity 10% Visibility How creative or innovative is the idea behind the prototype? How relevant is the prototype's use case to a real market or business problem? Can it be sold effectively?
  • Experience 20% User Experience Is the overall user experience intuitive? Does the flow make sense?
  • Implementation 20% Technical Strength and Sophistication 20% Feasibility How sophisticated is the application? Is a source code repository being used? Is there documentation? Are appropriate services and infrastructure being used? Does it actually work? How complete is the product? Could the prototype scale as a real solution with multiple users?
  • Pitch 10% Quality and Impact Was the team able to explain their idea and what the prototype actually did? Did the presentation and demo show how their hack has fulfilled the judging criteria?
  • Overall and main awards
    1st, 2nd and 3rd prize
  • Workshop prizes
    16 prizes in total
  • Audience award
    out of 25 finalists

  • Free Massage
    Tensed? Book your 15 minutes neck and back massage between 09:00-12:00 and 14:00 -17:00. - Room Modula I 2nd floor
  • Guided City Tour
    Fight fomo even though you are exhausted and join a guided city tour through Zurich’s old town. Meet the tour guide outside the main entrance of Technopark. You need to purchase a ticket for public transportation. - 16.00-17.30 and 17.00-18.30 I Meeting Point at the Check-in

  • Sleeping Rooms

    Make sure to use the sleeping rooms only during the corresponding time slots (last minute changes may occur). There will be a sleeping room for women only. Sleeping rooms are for HackZurich participants only. Please bring your own sleeping bag and mat with you.

    Technopark offers 4 showers, each located in the staircase in front of the goods lift at the end of:

  • Meals & Drinks

    We offer a veggie and meat option. Vegan or gluten free choices are not provided unfortunately. We kindly ask you to fill up your cup instead of taking bottles to your table.

  • Travel Reimbursements

    We reimburse travel costs for participants who successfully submit a project according to each persons traveling distance measured as beeline with www.luftlinie.org. Please upload your receipts here to get reimbursed. Reimbursements will only be granted if a project is completed and submitted and sent to your bank account approximately 3 weeks after HackZurich. Please consider that fees from banking transactions might occur.

    Travel distance: reimbursement up to
    less than 350 km: 50 CHF
    from 350 to 700 km: 100 CHF
    more than 700 km: 150 CHF
    outside of Europe: 300 CHF

  • Trash – Minimize Trash Like a Hero!

    HackZurich is green – but not green enough! Please empty and squeeze all bottles and/or cans before you recycle them into the right container. Always use a cup and don’t take bottles to your table.

  • Lost & Found

    If you lose or find something please contact the 24/7 reception of Technopark personally or by phone (+41 44 445 10 00) if you have already left the venue and contact info@hackzurich.com.

  • General Information

    The HackZurich Check-in desk will be 24/7 just as the official welcome desk of Technopark. Both desks are situated just in front of the main entrance.
